Visitors to Myrtle Beach flock to Barefoot Landing for its restaurants, bars and entertainment venues
If you’re looking to extend your South Carolina vacation, consider booking a stay at the newly opened Liberty Place Charleston by Hilton Club. The resort pays homage to its Charleston location, with classical interiors — such as crown-molding and deep windowsills — all inspired by the city’s antebellum architecture. Check out this video for a sneak peek.

HGV has three properties in Myrtle Beach, including Ocean 22 by Hilton Grand Vacations. Situated directly on the beach, the 24-story tower offers oceanfront and ocean-view suites with fully equipped kitchens. Guests will find an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a lobby lounge, a youth activity center and a grab-and-go deli on-site. As the resort is immensely popular, we recommend booking your stay for next summer in advance.

Can you describe Myrtle Beach in three words?
Sun, fun and relaxation!
What do you love most about living and working in Myrtle Beach?
The weather is amazing, the Southern hospitality is excellent and there’s always a beach nearby. I also love that there are great places both indoors and outdoors to play pickleball.
What are three attractions that first-time visitors to Myrtle Beach shouldn’t miss?
Be sure to check out popular dining and entertainment destination Barefoot Landing, where you can enjoy great views of the water from LuLu’s restaurant. The fishing village of Murrells Inlet has nice dining options and themed holiday events. For shopping, Tanger
Outlets offers great deals for the entire family, with stores including Adidas, Coach and more.
What are some of the area’s lesser-known attractions?
Just west of Myrtle Beach on Highway 501, the Conway Riverwalk connects the historic town of Conway to the Waccamaw River. Here, you’ll find marinas, picnic areas and playgrounds along a pretty walkway. Then there’s also Brookgreen Gardens, a lush sculpture park and wildlife preserve just south of Murrells Inlet. If you’re visiting during the winter months, be sure to check out its annual Night of a Thousand Candles event (November 26, 2021 to January 2, 2022), during which the gardens are illuminated by more than 2,800 candles.

Where should families spend a day out?
The WonderWorks amusement park is one of Myrtle Beach’s top attractions, with over 100 interactive and educational exhibits for all ages. Alternatively, head to Alligator Adventure in North Myrtle Beach, which houses big crocs alongside other reptiles, including snakes and lizards.

What are some of your favorite restaurants in Myrtle Beach?
Seafood restaurant Hook and Barrel consistently serves up excellent food, such as blackened salmon and bouillabaisse, at reasonable prices. If you’re looking to dine somewhere close to Ocean 22, upscale restaurant New York Prime dishes up great steak and seafood in a convivial atmosphere.
Where should visitors head for a drink?
The Sneaky Beagle serves great craft beer — including porters, stouts and IPAs — from numerous breweries across the country. I also love the rooftop setting of Soho Steak and Seafood Sushi Bar, which is within walking distance of Ocean 22.
Finally, do you have any travel tips for HGV Club Members planning to visit Myrtle Beach?
You’ll probably need more than a week to fully explore the great restaurants, attractions, shops and beaches the area has to offer, so plan accordingly!
